I think that was long enough of a break, don't you? As a reward for my loyal fans - all two of you - here is a look at our new home spa.
But first the before photos. Brace yourself. It's pretty grim.
Yes, that is plastic tile you see.
Now from the other side...
Pretty bad, right?
Keep reading to see how it all turns out.

Since there wasn't enough space on either side of our bed for traditional nightstands, we went with these fun DIY invisible shelves. You can find the step-by-step instructions here.

I feel a bit weird showing everybody my bedroom, but oh well, here it is. This room used to be two rooms: a small kitchen and a bedroom. We combined the two to make a decent sized bedroom for ourselves. As with the office, we stripped back the vinyl floors to reveal wood floors and then painted everything from floor to ceiling white to maximize the light. It's so bright, airy and calming all at the same time. Our last bedroom, with its oak floors and dark painted walls, felt cave-like in comparison. If I could have my way, I would paint every room in our house white. Sadly though the kids are insisting on color in their rooms. We'll see...
After the jump you'll find a few before and during pictures.

Sorry for the blog silence. It wasn't you. It was me. I've been ...well lots of things..but let's say busy. Yeah, that's the ticket.
Anyway, as a peace offering I submit the following photos taken over Midsummer weekend at Lake Lappa (Lappajärvi). The last one was taken around midnight.
Enjoy!

I'm loving these beautiful retro prints from Etsy shop ReStyle.

This one would work nicely in my kitchen.

This one reminds me of goof friends. ;)
