Wow, it's been like forever since I last posted anything. Sorry about that. So much has happened in the meantime. Though I guess the biggest thing that has happened is that we moved to Texas. I know, right? Pookie took up his employer's offer to come to Texas for a new project. So here we are! I never thought I would say this but here it is: I love Texas! Life is good ... and very busy. Hence, the long absense. Will try to post from time to time.
Rainbow over Texas
I think that was long enough of a break, don't you? As a reward for my loyal fans - all two of you - here is a look at our new home spa.
But first the before photos. Brace yourself. It's pretty grim.
Yes, that is plastic tile you see.
Now from the other side...
Pretty bad, right?
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
Since there wasn't enough space on either side of our bed for traditional nightstands, we went with these fun DIY invisible shelves. You can find the step-by-step instructions here.
Happy Birthday to most awesomest twelve year old in the world.
I feel a bit weird showing everybody my bedroom, but oh well, here it is. This room used to be two rooms: a small kitchen and a bedroom. We combined the two to make a decent sized bedroom for ourselves. As with the office, we stripped back the vinyl floors to reveal wood floors and then painted everything from floor to ceiling white to maximize the light. It's so bright, airy and calming all at the same time. Our last bedroom, with its oak floors and dark painted walls, felt cave-like in comparison. If I could have my way, I would paint every room in our house white. Sadly though the kids are insisting on color in their rooms. We'll see...
We're all just walking each other home.
